About Me
Hi! My name is Grace Shaw and I was recently diagnosed with Stage 3 Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Prior to this diagnosis, I was a current Sophmore and Division I Student-Athelete at Liberty University. I kept myself very busy to say the least while at college. I was on the Liberty Swim and Dive team, apart of the school's Honors Program, and was a student-assistant working in operations for the Liberty Football team. I am confident that I will be back doing all of these things I love to do and more as soon as I show cancer who's boss! My hope is to keep my family and friends updated through this blog and anyone else who wants to follow along with my journey. I hope that my journey can be a light in someone's life and show that there's always a reason to smile! :)

My Testimony
I grew up in a Christian household, going to church most Sundays. However, I didn't truly find Christ until my senior year of high school. I had a few close friends in high school but was never wildly popular because I did not partake in actions that were "cool". My life was centered on swimming and academics. I would go to school, then go to swim, then study, then go to sleep. I had a very monotous life, and besides my few close friends, I felt like there was something empty in my body. I didn't feel fulfilled until I started reading His word. While going through the recruiting process for swimming I started reading His word more and more. When I went on my on my offical visit to Liberty I remember distinctly hearing the words "It is Liberty". This is the first time I truly heard God's voice and from the moment I was all in on God. Since then I have been living my life as a follower of Christ and living each day for Him.

There's Always a Reason to Smile
After my cancer diagnosis I clearly heard the words, "There's always a reason to smile". I strongly believe that this was the Lord speaking to me. I know this journey will be filled with ups and downs, but I am comforted in knowing that through it all, there will always be a reason to smile.
