Chemo: Round 9!!!

Hey y’all!!! I’m so excited to be done with my 9th round and 3/4 of the way through chemo!! This round was definitely hard, like all the rest, but I’m so happy to be one round closer to being done!! Here’s what I’ve been learning.

Looking Forward Not Back

I’m not going to lie, I’ve still been adjusting to my hair being shaved and just what my life was before cancer. I’ve found myself looking at pictures from months ago when I had hair and was living my normal life. Whether it’s my hair or just the life I was living, I miss it so much. It’s okay to get nostalgic about the past and miss those times, but we can’t let ourselves get stuck in the past. I’ve learned that you can’t move forward if you’re looking back as we go the direction we face.

Our faith and how we deal with our tribulations determines if we move forward and see all the new things God has in store or stay stuck in the past and what didn’t work out. What’s gone is gone and I would be foolish to waste this precious time called life focusing on the past. All I got is “now” and I’m going to focus on the present. What’s behind me has no comparison to what’s in front of me. As long as I stay faithful, I know there will be many blessings ahead.

“All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God” Deuteronomy 28:2

My last chemo is September 4th and I head back to college September 11th!! I know college might look a little bit different than it used to, but I’m grateful to be able to go back and see all that’s in store. Every day is a gift, not a guarantee and I’m blessed that God has given me the opportunity to learn this.
