Hey y’all!!! Wow I’m officially done with my second round of chemo! Took around 3 hours, but it was nice knowing what to expect this go around. Jammed out to some country and worship music, neither disappointed. Chemo still hit me pretty hard this time, but I thought I overall felt a little better this time thankfully! Thank you for all the continued love, support, and prayers, I truly feel it coming from all over.

Smiling for Round 2!!!

I’ve learned a lot since the first round of chemo on the waiting season and would love to share my thoughts on it!

The Importance of Patience and the Waiting Season

I am most certainly in a waiting season right now in my life. I feel like every day I wake up and I am waiting for something, waiting for my next chemo, waiting for my next doctors appointment, waiting for my next PET scan, and waiting to be in remission and ultimately cancer free. I can certainly attest that the waiting season is hard. It is so hard waiting for everything to happen when I just want to be done with this and continue back to my normal life. However, God has been reminding me of many truths regarding being patient during the waiting season:

1. It’s up to us to enjoy the waiting

  • Every day is a blessing in itself and we have the decision to enjoy every day we are blessed with. In all reality, no day is a guarantee, every day is a gift from the Lord. We should rejoice every day we are gifted with and live each day with joy from the Lord. “This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” (Psalm 118:24) 2. The Lord tests the righteous during the waiting

  • “The Lord tests the righteous” (Psalms 11:5) During the waiting and trails of our life, we are being tested by the Lord. He is testing our faith, patience, and obedience in Him. “Be still before the Lord and wait patiently” (Psalm 37:7). We must follow his commands and wait patiently, and we will be blessed from our testing. 3. I’m not alone in the waiting

  • Countless number of people waited in the Bible. Moses waited 40 years, David waited 15 years, Joseph waited 13 years, and Jesus waited 30 years. There were many who waited and all who did, did not go unnoticed to God. I remind myself of this truth and how the waiting leads to blessings. 4. Later, we will know why God had us wait and there will be blessings from it

  • Ultimately, we may not understand why we are going through a season of waiting but later we will. Jesus replied, “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.” (John 13:7). Later we will know why He made us wait, and be grateful for the waiting season we had.

  • My all time favorite verse, that has been very fitting during the waiting season, “But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.” (Isaiah 40:31). I always pray that God will help me soar like an Eagle and give me a higher perspective during this time. Thinking about this from a higher perspective, this is such a small time in my life, all I have to do is remain faithful to the Lord and He will do the rest.

I know that later I will look back at these six months and see all the good the Lord was doing during this time. The greatest things in life are not accomplished all at once, but achieved one day at a time. The waiting season is never a waste and leads to renewed strength, growth in character, and big blessings in the future😊

Anyways, the final countdown has begun with only 10 chemos left!!! Next chemo is May 1st!! And if you want to plan ahead like me, if everything goes as planned, my 12th and final chemo will be September 4th🥳 Truly so soon when you look at it from a higher perspective.

And don’t you forget, there’s always a reason to smile 😁

Grace
